I just saw this photo on Facebook, from the ING New York City Marathon’s photo feed and I literally shivered.
I am right on schedule with my training and have been very religious to follow the Runners’s World marathon fool proof plan, and have a 16 miler in store this weekend. I am actually doing a local half marathon but I am running to the start line and running back home after the race to make for the 3 mile difference. However, I cannot cease to get a squirmy stomach and feel the butterflies as I imagine myself in the start line in Verrazano Bridge.
I love a quote I read somewhere that said “Getting to the start line of a marathon is the cherry on the ice cream”… all the hard work has been done… the race is just the reward.
